Defining Tax Credits

Which incentive benefits may be available to your company?  How does your company qualify for these tax credits?

The Tax Credit Company specializes in the following state and federal government incentive programs:

California Enterprise Zone

Qualification Criteria: Company Location, Employee Characteristics.

California offers one of the most aggressive incentives for businesses in the country.  Businesses located in any of the 42 Enterprise Zones in the state can realize substantial reductions in state income taxes for hiring employees from certain targeted populations and from qualified capital investments.  The Tax Credit Company offers a unique level of expertise in this particularly lucrative incentive program.

Federal HUD Zone Tax Credits

Qualification Criteria: Company Location, Employee Characteristics.

The Empowerment Zone and Renewal Community Employment Credits give businesses an incentive to retain or hire individuals who both live and work in one of the many targeted zones throughout the nation, providing the employer substantial federal income tax credits.

Federal Work Opportunity Tax Credits (WOTC)

Qualification Criteria: Employee Characteristics

This program rewards employers who hire qualified disadvantaged workers with federal tax credits, based on the employees’ wages and hours.  Any company doing business in the United States is eligible.

Federal Welfare-to-Work Tax Credit

Qualification Criteria: Employee Characteristics

The Welfare-to-Work Tax Credit is similar to the Work Opportunity credit, but with stricter certification requirements for prospective employees.  It also offers a more substantial benefit for each certified employee.
